0x800ccc0d Error in OE

I have 1 machine (win2K) on the network from which I
cannot access POP mail - getting the dreaded 0x800ccc0d
Error. I have removed anti-virus, checked & rechecked the
settings, have 5 other machines using pop mail accounts
without issue, have confirmed all patches in place and
still nothing - driving me nuts!

Any thoughts?

Have you checked for the msblast.exe- or mspatch.exe-proces? Fully patched?

Yes - problem also occurs in Outlook although just
manifests itself as a TCP/IP connection failure.

No hair left.
