Hi busmony:
We have one SBS 2000 client left, and we do all the installstion of
workstation/clients manually. I change the computer name and organization
type from my computer>properties>computer name. After it reboots, I install
the firewall and install/configure Outlook if necessary manually from the
shares on the server.
Note that this is exactly backwards from SBS 2003. In 2000, in you create
the computer first, the change name routine will bomb that the computer is
already listed in AD. In SBS 2003, you create all the users and computers
at the server console, then use
http://servername/connectcomputer to join
them to the domain.
If you use the swing method to get to your new server, you don't have to do
anything, the users and computers are already part of the SBS 2003 domain.
