    - Address Book via OWA Is it normal not have the address book show up automatically when creating a new message via OWA and clicking on the To: button. It makes you search for the user by typing a "K" than you have to hit the Find button.     - cant send internet email Users can receive mail but cannot send email to external addresses. They can send to everyone internally. When clicking "send and receive" from an outlook client an error is returned that says "the tcp/ip connection was unexpectedly terminated" . This started to occur after a linksys router was reset to factory defaults. After being reset the router came back online with an address that conficted with the SBS server. (192.168.1.1) SBS displayed a message about a conflicting ipaddress and the router was taken back offline and set to its previous address.     - OWA & opened email not appearing in InBox Using SBS 2000. One user cannot see any opened items in his InBox from OWA. Un-opened items appear but once he opens them they cannot be seen from OWA. The opened items do appear in his InBox with the full Outlook client...All other folders within OWA show opened items. Other users are not experiencing this problem. Any ideas?? Thx!     - can't retrieve POP3 email Hi We have on person in our company who works from home. They retrieve their email via POP3. Everything will be fine and then for some reason, they stop receiving email. If they close down outlook and reopen it, it still won't work. They have to log onto OWA, view/delete an item and then their POP3 account starts to work again. I have no idea what could be the cause. It's as if one of the emails blocks/clogs the process so no new emails can download. Once this email is gone, the process starts to work again. The rest of the people in the office use SMTP and don't experience this. I'm not sure if it is the client PC or the Exchange server or how to even trouble shoot this problem.     - Explorer - Can't view server Drive D Weird problem. Using windows explorer (my computer or similar), I can see my C and D drive, get their properties, etc. I can click on the C drive and see all folders OK. If I do the same on the D drive, the folder tree expands, then hangs with the egg timer, then shuts down the explorer window dumping me at the desktop. I cannot get to the files on the Drive D, except those that have shares and those can only be accessed from other PCs using the nework. This is messing up backups, causing A/V software to crash, etc. Server is SBS2K fully patched. I've disabled A/V software, tried running in Safe Mode, problem repeats. I don't have any RAID systems - drive is only 18GB SCSI formated NTFS. I cant see anything in the MS KBs. Anyone any ideas? Tag: OWA and one user Tag: 149700

    - User folder issue / Viewing graphics in a TS session Question 1: Within each individual users folder that is created on the SBS 2000, there is a folder called "windows" and a file called "wind but am not sure what they are for ? If they are important Can I secure them from being deleted by a user ? Hide them ? Question 2: I cannot block internet access to a basic user, even though I have removed them from the BOIU group. Not sure why ? Question 3: Is there any way of increasing the screen resolution for a TS session because any jpegs, PDF's containing graphics or excel spreadsheets containing jpegs, that I try and view thru a TS session look absolutely rubbish.     - SBS2000 & AOL email addresses Right new problem for you guys, I know it's a bit similar to some earlier ones but I still need some help. First the system layout. SBS2000 and a number of PCs on a network. Internet access is through a 3com ISDN Lan modem, on which I have put the ISP DNS entries, that is connected to the rest of the network through a hardware firewall. Internet access via our ISP, BT, and mail hosted elsewhere, bit odd but thats the way things have grown up. Internet and email all seem to work well, POP3 and SMTP connectors all doing their jobs well, except, Sometimes we get rejected emails when sending to some external contacts that have AOL accounts. Sometimes they get through but mostly they get rejected. Now I have read the earlier posts about PTR records and am wondering whether I need to set one up but where at the ISP or where our mail is hosted. Any thoughts or help gratefully received.     - Allowing Java Applets Hi all I am trying to access a web site that uses Java but it appears to be getting blocked by the ISA firewall. I have downloaded the Java Runtime Environment from Sun and installed it but when accessing the site, I get prompted for a username and password by my ISA server firewall. If I enter the admin password , it lets me pass but I am still unable to view the content of the site.     - VPN Problem This is a repost of a question earlier but with a different issue. The server at the remote office (Windows 2000) can connect to our SBS2K server without any problems. To view the SBS network I have to disable the internal NIC. Is there anyway of being able to keep the internal NIC alive and having the ability of the clients behind the remote office's server being able to see the SBS network as well.     - SBS2003 Installations errors When I connect a client to my server 2003, the first time, user applications are supposed to be installed, like Explorer 6.0, XP SPK1, FAX Client, Shadow Client,... but nothing happens. The Sript batch file in the login Script is running but nothing happens. I tried Differnt Clients with different OS, but it does not install. Also, during SBS2003 Installation, I ket getting the error: An error occurred while installing windows sharepoint and creating your intranet site.     - SBS2000 Licensing Problem Hi All, I have a small business server 2000 setup with 25 Cals installed. The last few days I have been constantly having a dialog box appear on the desktop saying "Warning: Licence usage for a product licenced in per seat mode is at the maximum number of licences purchased. New licence requests may not be granted. etc....." When I look in the event log it's for the exchange 2000 product, I don't even have 25 users connecting at any one time, and never had, yet this has been popping up constantly for the last week, anyone got any ideas ?     - Windows Management Instrumentation During the day the speed of the network slows down considerably. After looking through all the process in the Task Manager I found that the WinMngt.exe had 99% of the cpu. So in the services I stopped the Windows Management Instrumentation service. The network speed has increased. Problem is that this service starts up again. I am not sure if I can disable or change the service to manual. Can anyone help? thanks, Jason P.S.     - VPN quickie Hi I have got a SBS2K server to which I need to setup a remote office to be able to view the files on the SBS2K server. I have created a VPN link and the client connection is granted access so I have a link between the two. The question is this...     - SBS2K RRAS wont start - Could not load iprtrmgr.dll - error message I had a major crash on sbs2k server and I had to reinstall the NIC's. I have 2 NIC's working in Team and another one alone. The Team is used for internal LAN and the other one for external connections. I had a demand dial connection which worked well before the crash. Because I didn't know what is going on in the crash period I disconnected the SBS2K server from RAS console. Now I have to reconfigure it. But when I try to start the RAS as a LAN routing and Demand Dial routing it wont start sayind in Event viewer: "could not load iprtrmgr.dll". If I try to start the RAS only like LAN routing it starts ok. What must I do to make this thing working, because I need to make a demand dial connection (I need an ISA VPN) ?     - Acrobat Reader, Winzip and Users Folder I want to install the free downloads of Acrobat Reader and Winzip on our Win 2000 TS so our users can use both programmes thru TS.     - Problem Setting up XP Laptop On SBS 2000 Network I am having problems setting up an XP Laptop on my SBS 2000 Network. I utilize a network setup disc to set up new computers. When I try to set this pc up I get a "domain not found" or "can't set this type of computer up". I don't have the error down word for word. Bottom line the setup bails out. The same disc worked on some 98 and 2000 machines. I was also able to release and renew the ip and get a new address within the DHCP address pool. I am using the "problem XP laptop" at home on my cable modem to write this, so I feel that it does have any hardware problems. Any advice or suggestions will be very appreciated.     - Excel Attachments no workie in OWA Hi Everybodies, The problem is very simple. When using OWA, excel spreadsheets will not open, it comes up with a 404 error.     - Upgraded sbs2003 exchange problem I upgraded a customers sbs2000 box to sbs2003. Now I am getting an error when the exchange information store service tries to start. It is event 7024 error 0. I tried what the knowledge base article ( 285116 ) said. The path is correct in the reg. and the right permissions are set for the local system. I need some where else to look for a solution.     - Opening POP3 port Hi there I have a customer who wants to be able to access her exchange email with her mobile phone. I was thinking that one way to do it would be to open the POP3 port to the SBS2000 Server so that her mobile phone would be able to log into the pop3 server and check it that way.     - NEWBIE: VPN problems - no response from server? Hi All, I am having problems setting up VPN. I have configured my SBS2000 server according to Mariette Knaps 'How do I configure the server for remote access with VPN' on smallbizserver.net. The server uses a Netgear DG834 ADSL router and this is set up to allow VPN PPTP on port 1723 both in and out. I have set up my remote XP client at home according to KB 314076 (Configure a connection to a VPN in Windows XP) with PPTP as the type of VPN. When I try to connect from my home PC (with both the XP firewall and my zone alarm disabled). I get a 'connecting to the IP address' then a 'verifying username and password'. After that it times out and I just get a Windows error 721 'the remote computer did not respond' If I check the 'IP packet filters' in ISA there is no port listed for PPTP (although there is one listed 1701 for LTP2).     - Moving Exchange to another Drive Hello-- I have taken over a SBS2k network and they have Exchange 2000 on the same drive as the OS. Can Exchange be move to a Larger Drive with little problems. Cause I have a 72GB Drive which is not in the Array and just sitting there, don't know why really. But if I can move Exchange to that Drive it will free up my C-Drive. We've got W2KSBS2000 and are running it in terminal server application mode because all the users work remotely. evertyhing works fine except one thing.. we are unable to print a word document to the shared fax and select the outlook contacts.. when i open a email and print the the e-mail to the shared fax.. i can select my contactinformation from outlook. it works with the windows address book .. but that isn't the solution because i'll have to copy the shared contacts from the public folder and then export them .. then import.. bla bla bla .. or add them manually to the addressbook.. does anyone know a solution to my problem ...     - moving on question Hi! Well, it was approved. The budget that is. So, I'm moving on to SBS2003 Premium for the SBS box (new box) and to Win2003 Ent. Ed. for Member server. Question: What is the best way to approach this? The existing sbs box (sbs2k) will be used as a desktop handling backup images via Ghost. I was planning on installing Win xp Pro on it. Challenges: 1) A new install, but getting all AD and exchange mboxes over on sbs box. 2) I'm not too worried about the member server--it just serves as a file server (via mapped drives) and a print server. I'm guessing the best bet is to just copy directories to the existing sbs2k box then do a complete reinstall here. Goals, in summary: 1. Replace existing PDC with new SBS2003 Premium. 2) move all AD and exchange stuff from old sbs to new sbs. 3) Load win2003 ent edit. on existing member server, using a clean install, then copying data back. I am having a problem with one user trying to login to
his OWA account. Three times for the password than
Http / 1.1 401 Unauthorized.... Any suggestions to
troubleshoot? Every other user works fine.

Check the users account. I get this when the password expires. I have to
renew the password then, and everything works like before.
