Hi,
Every day there are a few hundred undeliverable emails in
the adminstrator inbox for users who do not exist in our
domain. I have always figured these were just failed
attempts by spammers fishing for valid email addresses.
For example, we'll have emails to

mark@ourdomain.com
joe@ourdomain.com
horsby@ourdomain.com

Some of the names are pretty crazy. Anyway, these email
addresses don't exist so they go to the admin box as
undeliverable. Should I be concerned or is it just really
failed attempts by spammers. Do other have this problem?

Thanks

This is actually normal. However, I suggest you turn on AD recipent
filtering... this way your mailserver will not even accept those emails.

I bloged about using AD filtering vs. blocking NDRs here:
