I'm trying to enable IIS on a machine that is used as the central server on my network.

When I look at the ADMIN tools, IIS is running and pointing to my wwwroot folder but when I enter "LOCALHOST" into the browser my default page isn't found.

It's not actually my network but my client, not sure about how to run these things but there's more information on what's running at http://www.scotweld.com/scotweldserver.jp

Can anyone tell me where the problem lies?

Regards,
Stevie

I should add that the website that I want to host on the server will be an Intranet and not a website that people outwith the LAN will be able to view

Also, how should I set it up so that my clients other branches can view the files on the server?

Steven,

Is the AD-domainname the same as the website-name?
Have you checked out www.smallbizserver.net?

What do you mean by the AD-domain name

The server is called 'scotweldserver

The smallbizserver.net site is useful but I've not found what I've been looking for thus far

Could it have something to do with the fact the server hasn't been named scotweldserver.local or something like that

Steven

Hi Steven,

What is the name you see in the domainbox at the loginscreen? And is that
name the same as your websitename?
