I have a SBS 2003, can not resolve the IP address of yahoo, google. Very
strange.

Is there any tool that I can use to track the messages (packets) sent from
the client computer, local DNS server
and remote DNS server to troubleshoot?

Thanks.

Hi Peter,

Let's start with the basics first. Standard or Premium? How many nics in the
server and how are you connected to the internet? Does DNS on the
servernic(s) **only** point to your server-IP?

Premium. 2 Nics. Both point to server-ip only. All the other web sites can be
resolved except yahoo and google. Does this have anything to do with caching?
Can I track the messages sent back and forth?

After you post the ipconfig/all from your server you can try removing
the isp dns numbers from your DNS forwarders tab to see if that helps.
Open the dns management console. Right click on your server name and
choose properties. Click on the forwarders tab. This should be
populated with your isp dns numbers. I have had problems at a few
accounts where the isp had some messed up dnservers. Removing them let
the already populated root hints do their job.

Please start with Marina's question though of how many nics and how
they are configured. Ipconfig/all from the command prompt will give
you that answer.
