Can I upgrade only the Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 on my SBS 2000 server?
Not ready to do a full SBS 2003 migration upgrade at this time. But will do
so early next year.

Also... can anyone recommend spam blocking software for my exchange server.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

SBS is not designed to have the individual components upgraded individually.
Even if you could do it, Exchange alone costs more than the upgrade from
SBS2k to 2k3, plus $60+ per Exchange CAL. Upgrading to SBS 2003 would not
only be less expensive than upgrading Exchange alone, it'd probably be less
work as well.

Do you have a specific need for Exchange 2003, or can you coast along as is
until you're ready to upgrade the whole SBS install?

As for spam blocking, what do you use for AV? I'd recommend looking into
the spam blocking program that integrates with your AV if there is one
available. Otherwise, one popular solution is GFI Mail Essentials.

Do you have any clue how expensive it would be to upgrade the Exchange =
only portion. I don't know that it would ever work on the SBS server =
itself but even if it did, you need Exchange Server 2003 RETAIL =
Copy...upgrade won't work and Exchange Cals

You're talking 699 for Exchange Standard and 67 a cal and everything =
else is still the old version

You can upgrade to SBS 2003 for 599 Theres a hundred dollar savings =
right there and you get all the new features of SBS 2003

20 upgrade cals for SBS would cost you 38 dollars apiece in a pack of =
20. Thats a 50% savings on the cals.

Not sure how to justify the extra cost for no benefit

Thanks fellas... I hadn't even looked at or considered the E2003 pricing.
I'll wait and do the SBS2003 upgrade and all will be well.
