SBS2000-ISA/DHCP/DNS/IIS/EXCHANGE ~50 W2K clients

periodically I take a look at the leases folder of the DHCP tree in the SBS
console.

Almost everything looks OK, except the twice now I have noticed a lease for
a computer called "pat".

Problem is that I do not know of any system named "pat" and nobody is owning
up to connecting to the network.

Therefore I'd like to prevent "pat" from connecting and getting a network IP
address.

The only info I have is the NIC "00010267a972" and the computer name "pat"

Is there a way of locking "pat" out?

Please be specific.

Thanks

Hi Rick,

You should be able to see the logins in the security log. That is, if you
have turned on auditing of login and logout events.

Marina,

Thank you for your fast response.

I installed SBS 2000 with all the defaults and have only added the
administrative templates needed for SUS and windows update.

Can you direct me to the location in the SBS console where I can check the
auditing values and adjust them as needed.

Also, is there a policy that allows me to cause a logoff at a desktop that
has been idle for a specified period of time?

TIA

RickD
