Win2k client in SBS lan all patched current.

Start, Run, cmd opens command window that shows Windows version and
copyright info at top, but the cursor is at U:\>????

Shouldn't is start out at C:\>???

Thanks...

Hi,

The user you are logged in with has its Home Folder mapped to drive U:.
Check the Profile properties for that user in AD Users and Computers to
confirm that.

Anyway, here is the situation:

This workstation is running Win2k w/ SP4.

When I go to Start, Run, regedit32 I get an error message that says:
"Cannot find the file 'regedit32' (or one of its components). Make sure the
path and file name are correct and that all the required libraries are
available."

I can navigate to c:\winnt\system32\regedit32.exe thru windows explorer and
double click and it
launches...

Any ideas as to why it won't work from cmd window on the pc?

Hi,

By default you will be using whatever is set for your home directory in AD.
If you don't want to use Home Directory redirection, just set it to nothing
in AD Users and Computer.
After doing that, and logging back on, your CMD should open in
<x>:\documents and settings\<username> .

Damian

Just to check, is that a typo or did you really type "regedit32"? The
filename should be regedt32 (no "i" to conform to 8.3)
