I would venture to say, though, that 8gb is now "minimum" size for the C:
drive. My last few servers, I've set the C: partition to around 15gb. Some
of my earlier 8gb SBS2000 installs currently are using up nearly 6gb of the
8gb. Although that's OK for running day to day, it will be a different story
when I get ready to upgrade them to SBS2003.
Also, which "older" utilities won't work with root partition > 8gb? Again,
I'm running several with 10-156gb with no problems, on Raid-5 disks.
