Sophos is generally regarded as the premo SBS antivirus product -
unfortunately it comes with a premo price too!

Still, if your client has the licences, um... better stick with what's
regarded as the best SBS antivirus product around.

I've found it easy to setup, configure and deploy to wk.stations.

I have it checking for updates @ ten minutes, on the Server.

Yes, and I love it. If you install Enterprise Manager too, you can get the
automatic updates as often as you want. Remote users can be updated
automatically too.

We have the licenses for Sophos AV and am wanting to
install it on our SBS2k network. I also have a win2k
server that will run TS in applic mode.

How do I go about installing SAV together with enterprise
manager & remote update ? Do I install the server
installation on the TS on the C-Drive, with enterprise
manager & remote update and then install SAV on the
SBS2000 server as a SAV client and then use the router
connection thru SBS server to get remote updates ?

Help greatly appreciated.

Regards
Antony

You install Sophos first as a central installation on the SBS. Then you
install Sophos SAV without the InterCheck Client on the SBS. You install
Enterprise Manager and Remote Update on the SBS. Have a look at the manuals
as they are very precise in how to do this.

Thanks for that.

I presume the Windows 2000 manuals.
It is just someone said to me to install the central
installation on the Terminal Server as SAV is an
application and should not be added to the SBS server.
When I install SAV on the Terminal Server, must I install
it without the Intercheck Client and how does running
Terminal Services in Application Mode on the TS effect the
operation of SAV.

Thanks again.
Antony

Hi Antony,

I would just install all Sophos applications on the SBS-server.
