Hi,

in my sbs 2000 setup i need to route 2 email address's (local) to a
different relay (smart host).

I have added another connector, and set it to reject all messages
apart from the 2 email addresses that i require (from local domain).

i have also denied the 2 addresses from using the default SBS SMTP
connector.

When testing, watching the smtp queues, i see only the default SBS
smtp connector queue and not the newly created connector queue - is
this right?
Also the 2 email addresses i have set to route thro the new connector
end up in the SBS smtp connector queue.

An help would b greatly appreciated.

Clive

I don't think there is an easy way to do this and what you are doing I don't
think is going to work. You need to route one set of sender to one samrthost
and a 2nd one to another... it is easy to do with the recipients, but not
with the sender.

What you need to ask yourself is why you need it that way on the first
place? Are all your ISPs blocking mail from other domains that your own
(this is unlikely in my experience)??? Use 1 smarthost to relay all your
outbound mail. For example, I have comcast in my home but I use their
mailservers as a smarthost to relay al sorts of mail with different domains
(I never use my @comcast.net mail address).

we have a new email tracking/response app that requires email to go
via a different host than our default mail gateway. we dont need all
email to go out via this smarthost, only 2 email addresses. we have
been advised by the vendor that the best way is to have a connector to
route the 2 email addreses to the alternative smarthost.
