When i compose a message with exchange recipients and internet email addresses the exchange recipients email address shows as login@domain.local.

if i have the user Joe Shmow with a login of joes on InternalDomain and i send an email externally i would like the email to appear to come from
jshmow@externaldomain.com

i set up the default recipient policy smtp address to %1g%s@externaldomain.com but that didn't seem to do the trick.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

so, i asked a friend about this problem and here's the solution. after modifying the default recipient policy the policy didn't seem to take in outlook. i delete the outlook profile and recreated it, unchecking the caching option. outlook then had the correct smtp information.
