That is the most rediculous cross posting. Just ask once in one place
would be sufficient.

www.pricegrabber.com Look for seller ratings if you are nervous.

that wasnt a rude reply just like to know why it caused a problem jim? you
seemed upset? I assume the benefit of cross posting is designed to enable
you to keep track easily of the threads that kind folk like yourself have
posted, so enableing numpties like myself to asl a broad question when not
knowing where to post!

I'm sure you don't really need to ask that question.
That aside I take it you're not too bothered which country you source it
from then?

It's considered netiquette to keep cross-posting to a bare minimum
rather than use the Scattergun approach.
Just the SBS newsgroups would have been adequate.

sorry, not sure how that effects the idea of cross posting, don't get me
wrong wouldn't be rude on purpose to anyone, but my situation is this, doing
my MCSE just got going on it and need to get SBS2003 up and running asap
hence the cross post, need an answer so as i can go get it for delivery
asap. Not heard of netiquette assume this is something that regular posters
have created ?
anyway apologise for the problem but still confused as to how it causes
anyone a problem, surely you can easily just ignore? or am I missing
something obvious?

a.. If a message truly belongs in multiple groups, by all means cross-post.
In fact it is better to cross-post than to post the same message separately
to different groups.
a..
This is in the links you sent kevin as netiquette I think but may be wrong
the groups I have crossed this to are all to do with windows 2000 or server,
i needed a quick response and apologise to you as you are obviously annoyed,
but I have always assumed that cross posting is in use to help keep track of
replies, have read all the netiquette groups as I am not ignorant and will
bare in mind, thank you for your help in the original post, still a little
unsure as to what price I need to be looking at to purchase SBS2003 as most
links i have been sent to seem to rope you in with a nice price and then
give you the sucker blow that it is for the upgrade price, best I have seen
is £380.
Anyway thanks again for pointing a few things out.

It just gets down to signal to noise ratio for those trying to help and
regular readers of the newsgroups concerned.

Excessive cross-posting gets to be a lot like Spam - and while like Spam
we can each ignore it, we'd rather not have to put up with it in the
first instance. If Usenet becomes an uncomfortable place to be/visit
then communication ceases and we all loose.

Spadger,

Since you mentioned MSCE... are you planning to be a consultant?

On the other hand, if you only want this for testing... why don't you get a
trial version?

Here is a link to crosscheck pricing. If you find it for more than what is
listed here, then they better have a good additional support package listed
for it.

The prices here should be the highest, before shipping, costs.
