can anyone point me in the right direction???

i keep recieving a msg from NT on my desktop, telling me
that my system is being closed down, it then proceeds to
count down from a minute (1:00)to 0, upon reaching 0, it
closes every application, terminates any connections
(network or internet)and reboots my machine.

i have run norton 2003 anti-virus. That shows system
status is ok.

Kind Regards,

Christian

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting in the newsgroups. The symptoms that you described sound like those of the MsBlast virus. Check
the Run key in the Registry at HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion to see if you have a value
called: "Windows auto update" = msblast.exe. If so, delete that entry. Also do a file search for Msblast.exe and delete it if
found. Most importantly, apply the critical update to your system. For information on the update, check out the following
