Hello helpful people,

I have a 2000 SBS server for a network of 12 users. over the weekend, my
email has dried up and I cant receive any. i have spoken to my ISP and he
asked me to check out the server. i have done this and see that the memory
is 99% full, which I guess isnt helping matters.

Is there a way that I can go into the server and delete
old/unused/irrelevant items to free up space? grateful for any assistance.

Thanks

Hi Al,

I think you mean "hard drive" and not "memory". While there are probably
quite a few folders/files you may be able to delete, you may also have a
more serious problem. You have to figure out not only how to recover from a
full hard drive but alos why it filled up to begin with. This can range
from simply too small a hard drive capacity to a hacker breaking into your
system and using it as a repository for his files.

Since SBS 2000 came with 2 free Microsoft support calls, I'd really suggest
you call them and talk to a tech (Microsoft Product Support 800-936-4900).

Hi,

If the server is reaching the 99%, if you check the taskmanager and
store.exe is
causing this problem, then you can restart the microsoft information store.
When you do this you should notice that the memory should go back to normal.
There is a hotfix for this but you need to contact ms support for that, if
the hotfix does not solve this problem just monitor the memory as it should
go back to normal.

Thanks
