I have a client running SBS2k and ISA with two NICs in the
server. The ISA work fine for everyone except for 1 or
two sites. I have one user that must access a site and it
fails throught the proxy server. What do I need to do to
let this user have direct Internet access? Currently, if
I turn off proxy and just point him to the internal
address of the SBS system as default gateway, it doesn't
work.

I just want this one user to be able to bypass the ISA
server.

Thanks in advance for any help!

have you tried installing the firewall client?

Hi Harry -

Open ISA Management and navigate to

Servers & Arrays
<servername>
Extensions
Application Filters

Double-click on HTTP Redirector Filter, the remove the check next to Enable
this filter.

The HTTP Redirector Filter is enabled by default - and what it does is take
any HTTP requests from Firewall and SecureNAT clients and sends the requests
to the Web Proxy service. By disabling this filter and removing the proxy
settings for your one user, they should bypass the proxy service and have
direct web access. It is important to note that your proxy settings are
machine specific, so if this user needs to use different PCs, you'll need to
remove the proxy settings on each. If that is the case, I would suggest
calling a script from this user's login script that removes the proxy
settings (and calling a similar script in everyone else's login script that
sets the proxy settings) - thus your one user always has direct access no
matter what PC they're at, but everyone else is using the proxy . . . .
