I created a second domain (xyz2.co.za) under recipient
policies of exchange for another company within the
group. Internally we can send email to the users in this
new domain, but external mail forwarded to them does not
get to them. Further to this their reply address reflects
them on the "main" domain (xyz.co.za) originally on the
server.

Any ideas why this is happening?

External mail is forwarded to our server by being pointed
to it by an internal relay server.

Gerald:

Please forgive the obvious question:

From outside your network (i.e. your home) at a command prompt type
nslookup -q=MX xyz2.co.za
does the response point to the external IP address of your SBS server (or at
least to your firewall)?

Few months ago, someone had problems, they did not wait the 72 or 84 hours
for the Internet DNS servers to update.

If you are using ISA with your SBS, don't forget to add xyz2.co.za to the
SMTP filter. If you are using another firewall, you may have to let it know
about the new SMTP address as well.

again, this may be too obvious, and you already have this covered.
