since yesterday my remote clients when dialled in can only connect to the
SBS server and cannot see any other machines on the network.

I am rebooting the sbs server to see if this clears it but does any one have
any ideas why this might have happened

regards

Richard

the reboot did no good.

I have connected again and done an ipconfig /all - this shows the DNS and
WINS as my server ip but the Remote gateway as the same as the ip that has
been given to the client .... I am sure the remote gateway is meant to be
the server is it not?

Default Gateway on the External NIC should be Router / BBModem / ISP IP
depending upon your setup.

Default Gateway on the Internal NIC should be blank

Try re-running the ICW

the nics on the server are set up as per smallbizserver.net. The default
gateway I was referring to was the result on the client when I run ipconfig
/all when I am connected to the server.

the server nics are set up like this.

the results I was referring to was the ipconfig/all on the client when
connected to the sbs server. The remote gateway is the same as the ip given
to the client when it connected to the server.

the problem is not connecting to the server but persuading the server that I
am a good guy who is allowed to browse the network from the remote client

Regards

Richard
