Hi,

We've the same problem on several installations;
LJ8150DN (with a JetDirect card) configured with a fixed IP address and
connected to SBS2K server with all the latest patches and drivers. Usually
after a paper jam or format mismatch, the printer stops printing and is
indicated as 'not ready' on server printer page and the only way to get it
printing again is by restarting the spooler on the server - otherwise the
printer works fine and we don't have the same problem with other printers on
network.

HP suggests using their "Install Network Printer Wizard (INPW)" on server
(if printing from server is required) and workstations and creating HP
Standard TCP/IP port as opposed to a Windows TCP/IP port and printing
directly to this port from workstations. If I remember correctly there were
a lot of issues using HP software on SBS4.5 so I'm a bit reluctant to using
HP software. Has anybody else used INPW successfully on SBS2K server and
workstations without any conflicts?

Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't help you much there, apart from confirming I have the same problem.
Reflashing the Jetdirect does not help either.

Not used that particular printer but rather an HP Laserjet 4050 T with
external Jet Direct 500ex
on both 4.5 and SBS 2000 have used the HP software for all workstations and
the server and never had an issue

Used JetAdmin in 4.5 and Install Network Printer software in 2000

Thanks, I think I'll also give '"Install Network Printer Wizard" a try.
