I have tried all MS suggestions:

1)SP1a
2)moving main in and out of the inforward mail folder combo
3)my vmimbcom date is aug 2002

What else can i do?

I am running SBS 2000 SP1a

We are connecting using adsl we have two NICS one for the
internal network the other for outside internet adsl.
We are using SMTP and mail seems to go out.

We use the POP3 to get mail from an ISP ( for backup and
security reasons)

All patches are up to date including post SP3.

From a post by Susan...
For issues with the POP3 Connector, double check the default settings as
well. For mail stuck in the Inforward Folder, try moving some out and see
if the
remainder flow. Corrupt messages can precent inbound pop3 mail to
recipients. If the
connector is not downloading at all, verify you account information, and if
all else
fails, uninstall/reinstall the connector.

Did you check the bindingorder and made sure internal nic is on top?
Have you run the ICW-wizard?
I'm not sure why you think you need the POP3 if your ISP supports SMTP.

Mail Stuck in InForward Folder

IF your MS Mail 2000 SBS version is not delivering mail to
the recipients but is reading from your ISP server look
in the following directory it may be stuck there because
on or more of the mail may be corrupted or could not be
delivered to the recipient and no forward error was setup
in exchange.

Look in:
Original_Folder = C:\Program Files\Microsoft
BackOffice\Connectivity\POP3 Connector\InForward

Create Folder:
Create a folder on the root of your C drive called
c:\InForward" and copy message files from the above folder

Note Error and Message:
You may get the following message " Cannot move "MSG#-#"
there has been a sharing violation the source or the
destination may be in use

Move Message:
Move the message in question or (store it in a safe place
for viewing in Notepad to inform the sender to resend)

Finish copying all the files to c:\infolder"

Now do the following Steps:"A to D"

A) STOP/RESTART the TWO Services :

1) MS Connector for POP3 mailboxes
2) MS Exchange POP3

B) Copy some/remaining or all the files FROM C:\InFolder
back to the Original_folder-- Its more fun to do small
chunks and actually see the files disappear from the
original_folder into the users mail boxes, provided your
have one of the users mail box open in a separe window.

C) Send some test mail to a few of the recipients who will
recieve the mail stuck in the inforward box -- use NOTEpad
to view the mail contents header

D) Isnt this FUN now GOTO "A"

Thanks
for all your help this is my input in return
