Hi!

The M drive is not really needed for Exchange to be functioning properly (in
fact, it is not installed by default on Exchange 2k3).

Are you experiencing any actual issues?

Yes, cannot mount databases.

My databases are on d drive and my logs are on c drive.

How can i get exchange back?

Tried to run eseutil but comes back with jet error and
that my database is inconsisent. Is this because my logs
are separate to the databases?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You lose your M Drive when your stores do not mount. When you get the stores
mounted
the folders under the M Drive will reappear.

Many admins intentionally keep the logs and databases separated as a matter
of Best Practices. So this is not the issue.

Seems like a database corruption issue for sure. Got a current backup?

The absence of the "M" drive typically means that either/or the Microsoft
Exchange System Attendant Service or the Microsoft Exchange Information
Store Service did not start on boot.

Reboot the server and see if either of the above services fail to start.
If so, look in the application and system logs for the events that
correspond to the failed start.

Post the results.

Thanks for posting!!
