Anyone,
I am new at this. I installed SBS2000 on a new server.
I am trying to convert a small 6 client peer-to-peer to a
Domain. All clients are running Win98. When I try to
logon I receive the message "No domain server was
available to validate your password. You may not be able
to gain accessto some network resources". I need help!

Is WINS fired up and running on that server?
Connectivity issues between Windows XP and the server:
http://www.smallbizserver.net/sbs2000/Connectivity_issues_between_Windows_XP_and_the_server.aspx

DHCP setup. Click on Start...Administrative Tools...DHCP.

Address Pool: 192.168.16.0 to 192.168.16.254
Scope Options:
003 Router 192.168.16.2
006 DNS Servers 192.168.16.2
015 DNS Domain Name yourcompany.local
044 WINS/NBNS Servers 192.168.16.2
046 WINS/NBT Node Type 0x8 [please note - in official release notes,
this value is usually seen as 0x1 (type B), however 0x8 is recommended
for a SBS server]

That's okay just adjust that table accordingly but make sure WINS is
listed there.

Hi Paul,

That is fine too, but did you set the scope options and do you have WINS
installed?

The Server name on the client was wrong.
If the Complete computer name is pscp.Server.PSCP
What should the server be listed as in client
configuration?

Hi Paul,

What did you setup the 015-value with? Check on the client, Network
Properties, DNS, that there is nothing filled in.
