Hi,

Does anyone know the right procedure to reinstall=20
(reformat) the server without loosing the licences?

In other words: =BFhow shoud I "backup/move" the licences=20
and restore them later in another fresh install?

Hi Peter:

There is no way to "backup" the licenses in SBS 2000. SBS 2000 came with 5
licenses "built in". Then you added more licenses with the special setup
floppy disk(s) you got from your vendor. After you reinstall SBS (and
assuming you don't install a new internal network adapter), pop in the last
setup floppy disk you installed in the previous installation and run
"setup.exe" from the disk. This should bring your license count back to
its current number.

Peter

Licenses come on floppy disk and are tied into mac address of network
card(s). Only way to install.

If using same server will not be a problem ( using floppy disks of course).
If installing to new server then if nics cant be transfered to new server
then all you do is phone pss who will give you an unlock code when it is
prompted.
