No first hand knowledge, but a couple of quick ideas. First of all, I don't
think that the snap servers use NTFS - the permissions are set on the snap,
not on the windows box. Even if the snap is using the domain accounts to
set permissions, that's set in the snap GUI and you can probably just add
the NT box to the list there. I'd go to the snap web site and download the
doc about setting permissions, since I'm pretty sure the problem is there
rather than on the windows server - if nothing else, a windows server
changing permissons randomly would seem to be a very uncommon event.
Secondly, since the snap is a network attached device, can you set the NT
server that's not part of the SBS domain to access the snap directly? I had
a situation where I needed to give the users access to a print server that
was part of a legacy Unix domain. This was a real pain because I had to
create and configure an account for each user on Unix, for no reason other
than to allow printing. Eventually I decided to try treating the print
server as part of the windows domain - set it up with the same IP and
everything on a win2k box. Now it works fine from both Unix and Windows.
I'm thinking you may have a similar situation with the snap - you should be
able to configure it to accept data from the NT box in addition to its
existing configuration, without effecting its ability to do what it already
does.
