the company is using microsoft small businee server 2000,
it is used as microsoft exchange server for e-mails but it
does not host the web site. all other computers on the
network connect to the internet via the server.
the problem i have got is that the internet connetion
seems to connect and stay connected when there is only the
server and only 1 other computer connected to the network,
there is no users using the other computer because it is
in a locked office.
i have set the e-mail retrieval to every hour monday to
friday 0600 to 1800 as i thought that this could be the
problem, but it still connects randomly and the last time
it was left unchecked and stayed connect for 5 days, this
connect is sending and recieving data.

has anybody any ideas how to stop this problem

Check your networksetup at www.smallbizserver.net. How many nics in the
server? Does everything on the ipconfig/all from the client point to your
server-IP?
