Is it possible to host multiple mail domains on SBS Server 2000? I
know it is with exchange 2000 Enterprise, however having problems with
SBS. Thanks

Nick,

This is absolutely possible (and not too uncommon). Have you tried the
steps outlined in KB articles:

260973 Setting Up SMTP Domains for Inbound and Relay E-Mail in Exchange 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=260973

and

268838 Configuring Exchange to Receive Mail from Multiple Domains
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=268838

If so, what's not working?

Thanks for your help. Those procedures seem to work if you are just
recieving
smtp mail. What I am trying to do is have two seperate accounts ex
test@xyz.com and test@abc.com. Thanks again for any assistance

Nick,

Are you trying to modify the outgoing From: field, or simply add a secondary
SMTP address. In the first case, you would need two accounts with different
email addresses and then give the user send as rights to modify the outgoing
From: field. In the second case, you simply add a new recipient policy with
the secondary SMTP address. The default SMTP address for a user will be
appended to their Exchange alias in either case.

Thanks for helping out. I am still having problems when I go to add a
new user I can select from either SMTP domian ex abc.com or xyz.com
however if I try to create an account from test@xyz.com and test and
test@abc.com. I recieve the user logon name is already in use in the
enterpriese. Chose another logon and try again. Could it have
somthing to do with limitations of SBS Exchange which I believe is
more restricted then exchange 2000 ent?

Nick,

There are no special restrictions for the SBS 2000 version of Exchange 2000.
Are you receiving the error for just the one test alias? If so, it's
probably because another object in the Active Directory really does already
have that alias assigned to it. You may try going in to Active Directory
Users and Computers and doing an advanced search at the domain level to find
the object with that alias.

Thanks Mark, its now seems to be working and you were right it was an
alias issue.
