Using the Small Business Server 2000 Disks, I have
Install Windows 2000. When I try to run the SBS
installation it says my version of Windows is incorrect
and that I need to Install the correct version. I know
for a fact that it is the correct version and I do not
want to reinstall the software. what can I do to resolve
this issue?

Probably this would help:

306934 Error Message: This Version Cannot Upgrade the Installed Version of
Microsoft Small Business Server
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=306934

To resolve your issue... just backup and then delete the following resistry
key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Small Business
Then try to start the integrated setup again.

Hi,

Have you attempted to install an SBS 2000 Client Access license disk before
attempting to run the SBS integrated setup?

If the exact error you get is:

"This version cannot upgrade the installed version of Microsoft Small
Business Server."

Then you will need to remove the following registry key before setup will
allow to proceed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Small Business

After you remove the key, re-run the Small Business Server 2000 integrated
Setup to continue the installation.

Regards,
Damian

Hi Jeff:

What they said. And don't install any additional Service Packs or patches
until you complete the SBS component installation.
