Morning all,
Can I put the SBS 2000 client setup programs on to a USB drive as all of my
new PCs are floppyless!
TIA
Mike

For SBS 2000, the widely adopted recomendation (that I've seen mainly
here on this NG) is to NOT use the client setup disk(s).

It's pretty simple to do manually - so off the top of my head:
* join the PC to the domain
* logon as you ((domain) admin user)
* install the SBS Firewall client (in: \\server\mspclnt)
* on the *local* PC, add the intended user in Control Panel, Users as an
admin user (locally this is!)
* test the user logon

I've found it handy to mod the sbs logon script so that it outputs to c:
\logonlog.txt - for examination to check it's run ok.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that the recommendation is NOT to =
use the setup disk
the biggest problem with most folks and SBS not working as expected is =
because they don't use the wizards as they should

While it appears, that you've covered most of the bases, not using the =
wizards/tools, leaves lots of room for forgetting one or more important =
step.

what about getting a USB floppy drive?

I had to get one as most rack servers are also coming without floppy drives,
and it's pretty tough loading those 3rd party drivers after pressing F6
without a floppy!!!
