I have users that have local .pst files. Is it possible to
move them once i have these users logging in to the domain
using Exchange? If so, how do i do that?

Thanks, Mike

Add the personal folder as a service in Outlook. Then just drag the messages
from the personal folder to the main Exchange inbox.

Hi Mike,

Leave the .pst's where they are. Have the users log into their exchange
account via Outlook, and import the mail from the .pst. This places a copy
in their exchange inbox.

Just to add, Kathy's suggestion could end up a bit confusing for users cos
will have Exchange Mailbox and Personal folders. Also must ensure configure
mail to deliver to ' exchange mailbox '. Could be time consuming if alot of
messages / folders.

Personally I would make sure you know where the right pst is. Configure
outlook to use exchange and delete any personal folders (using mail icon in
control panel) then once outlook is open File, Import and point to the pst.

Finally, ensure you do use an ' Exchange Aware ' backup programme, otherwise
logs will fill up space on hard drive.

Yes! It was supposed to be a one-off. I should have added that you should
remove the pst after moving the messages out of it. Personal folders should
be avoided wherever possible(except as a mail transfer method).
