Can anyone please tell me how i can restrict what people
are downloading. The main problem is people using Kazza
etc to download movies etc. Is there a way i can stop
this without affecting their access to the internet?

Thanks in advance

I would block the following domains:

*kazaa.com
*kazaalite.tz
*download.com
*download.com.com
*www.k-lite.tk
*kazaaplus.com
*sharmannetworks.com

Here are the instructions... in case you need them:
http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Denying_access_to_a_specific_webpages_using_Site_and_Content_rules.html

Probably this won't be that effective. You could also block any *.exe or
*.zip files... but you know what that means too. Check this link (read the
whole thread):

Climbing up on soapbox...

Kazaa (and any other inappropriate Internet usage) is a personnel management
problem, not a computer management problem. There should be a company
"acceptable use" policy in place that disallows the use of Kazza on the
network. Anyone violating that policy should be dealt with as specified in
the policy. Sometimes you need to get tough to protect your assets (the
company network and data).

NAH, just subtract the cost of their downloads from their wages, whether
those downloads are intentional or not. I'm pretty sure they'll voluntarily
give up their bad habit if this was enforced.

I agree with Merv... especially in Small Business, this is something that
can be properly addressed by a stong company policy (and enforcing it).

Absolutely correct! If I installed and used Kazaa I would be reprimanded
and possibly dismissed. It's that simple. Of course it's a little harder
in a large organization.

I like this... another revenue stream for the company. :-)
