Hi

I have a customer with sbs2k. The 'retrieve now' button is
missing on the pop3 connector props.

Restarting/reinstalling pop3 connector fails to resolve
the issue.

Any ideas?

The button is no longer there after SBS Service Pack 1 (and 1a) . The
reasons are that using that button and closing the POP3 connector properties
dialog by using the OK button could cause data loss.

If you want to force the POP3 Connector to check e-mail, you should use the
Synchronize Mail option in one of the SBS consoles.

In the SBS Administrator Console, click on the "First Organization
(Exchange)" node on the left pane, and on the right pane you should see a
number of options, including Synchronize Mail (Make sure the right pane is
set to "Tips - Exchange 2000 Server" on the bottom tab).

Damian

Hi
I still have the button on my system, sp2. Is that because
I have updated from the original build?
Should sp2 have removed it?

What Damian was referring to was SBS SP1, not Windows 2000 SP1. SBS SP1
contains Win2K SP3, SBS related fixes and some other stuff. If you haven't
updated to the latest service pack for SBS, you should. SBS SP1a has
replaced SBS SP1 and contains Win2K SP4.

How to Get Small Business Server 2000 Service Pack 1a

Order the CD.

Thanks Merv

I had been assuming that when I used Windows Update, I
would get the right thing. I will have to look into this a
bit further!
