New sbs 2000 box, can't get the second nic to even
recognize the cable when I connect to T1 router.

Cable is fine, nic lights up fine when I connect it to
hub.

Where is my next area to look?

Intel MB with Dual Lan

Using Gigabit to Lan, 10/100 to T1 router.

Make sure it's the proper cable. a crossover or not a crossover...

If you're connecting to the router directly, did you try a cross-over cable?
I had that same problem with a Zyxel router and a cross-over cable solved
the problem.

You should stick to only one thread...

look "SBS Internet Connection" on 7/9/2003 2:59PM.

I waited for almost an hour for the first post to show,
gave up and tried again.

Sorry

Problem solved. One computer I was using for testing was
apparently able to 'flip' wrong cable type, which misled
me to think I had nailed that. Got a crossover cable and
the server is now connected.

Now I can't get the clients to connect the same way I
always have.

The only difference in this network is that there are only
XP clients for now. Never had that situation before.

I usually just find and run setup on firewall client, then
add the user to Internet users group, and all is fine.

This time the client machine keeps asking for an admin
username and password. I'll do a search and then if
necessary post the question here in a new thread.
