Hi
I am going to install sbs2000 on a new server. This server is to rollover an
existing sbs2000 server. I would like the new server to retain the same
computername/IP and also to host the same internal domain name. I would like
to do this because there is a multitude of 3rd party software on the server
that is dependant on the name of the server. My question is, can you simply
disjoin/rejoin client workstations that are running 2000/XP to this new
server? eg make client pc member of workgroup and then rejoin to domain, or
are there going to be SID issues etc to worry about?

Workgroup and back to join the new server will give the workstations
new sids. Look at www.smallbizserver.net for an article on new
hardware for a server.
