I have 2003SBS PDC w/xp pro clients and NONE of my clients (although they seem to authenticate just fine) can browse active directory objects or even see active directory on the server. I get permission denied errors connecting to server or client shares. I used the network id wizard to join the domain and my users are all copies of the admin account. I know I'm doing something silly that can be easily fixed but I can't figure it out. I have changed the NICs and Switches thinking its hardware but to no avail. I have one nic in the server and Terminal Services loaded. DNS-wise I have the server pointing to itself and the clients pointing only to the server.

Does the ipconfig/all show that everything is pointing to the server-IP?

Yea, I have gone over my network setup a number of times and to be honest had to change my DNS stuff at first. let me add that this issue is intermittent.. At Short intervals everything authenticates perfect. !

This server didn't get built the way I would usually do it. The decision to use Active Directory occured Way after it was built
I am truly baffled and am going to break down and rebuild tomorrow if I can't figure it out, much to my chagrin. :/

Hi Danny,

Can you explain why active directory was not used in the first place? How
was it setup?
You are talking about SBS 2003, right?
Before rebuilding, have you tried reinstalling SBS?
Mind about the Sharepoint-bug and put the date before November 24th if
you're reinstalling or rebuilding.
