Have 2003 servers on our network and a SBS 2000 server on our remote network.
PIX VPN firewalls in between.

Trying to connect our SBS 2000 server to a 2003 server in our network. Can
connect to workstations, MACs or 2000 servers but none of our 2003 boxes.
Doesn't seem to matter whether they are DC or non-DC. Can't even get the 2003
server to respond to a ping.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Are those 2003 servers in the same network domain as the SBS? Are they
joined to the SBS?

No on both counts.

Then it is no wonder. SBS won't do trusts.

We're not trying to establish a trust. We have a hardware VPN between our
networks(2 PIX VPN firewalls).

We're simply trying to establish a VPN connection from the SBS network to
our primary server. From the SBS network we have been able to establish a
connection to our 2003 VPN box(domain member) and another virtualized 2003
server but we stilll can't establish contact with the primary 2003 cluster
server on our end. Appears as if packets sent to that box are getting
blackholed or filtered out but we don't have any filters set - can't even get
a ping response.
It's only the primary server(DC) that we're having problems with - all other
servers/workstation are accessible.

Hope that makes it a little clearer.

Hi,

SBS has to be the 'primary server'.
