We have a very small SBS2000 installation and have a ADSL connection to the
internet
We have a Netgear DG834GT connected to the ISP and we want to share this
connection with our SBS network.

I have two questions :-
1. Can we just connect this to our switch? and if so how do we allow users
to share this through our SBS server?

2. Can we use a wireless connection from the Router to the Server and share
that - we have very little internet traffic only a few emails.

Would appreciate any help

Ken

Hello,

please include some information about your network like how many network
aapters do you have on SBS?

You can go through following KB's for referance:

How to Configure Small Business Server for Full Time Internet Access with
Two Network Adapters.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;306802

How to Configure a SBS for Full Time Internet Access with a Single Network
Adapter (309633)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;309633

Thank You

hi thanks

Our Server has one NIC and a "Wireless Adaptor USB Dongle" that I am
connected to the ADSL Router with I hoped I could share this wireless
conection with the other few machines and do away with the ISDN conection we
already have shared.

Hello,

You can definitely try that but your clients would be bypassing the server.
The best way would be to connect Internal NIC cable to a switch and then
connect all the clients into same switch. If you have ISA installed then you
might want to use Webproxy else you can use RRAS with NATing.

If you are running [or intend to run] SBS Premium with ISA, you'll need to
go with a 2 NIC set-up as per the info here:
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=154. In fact, even if
you're opting for SBS Standard, I'd still go down the 2 NIC route as you're
at least putting 'something' between your LAN and the outside world that
way...

Hope that helps,

David
