I added a router to my SBS setup yesterday following the
instructions found on smallbizserver.net. Everything
worked fine as far as sending e-mail and accessing the
internet. But now I cannot receive any e-mails and the
VPN's and Terminal services I was using to access other
servers in remote locations does not work. I tried
changing the settings on the router to no avail ( such as
turning of the firewall in the router and seting a DMV).
I assume this has to do with port forwarding?

Thanks!

Scott

So you have 2 nics in the server, right? Checked bindingorder? Did you run
the ICW-wizard?
What kind of router do you have?

Yes, two nics. Binding order is correct. It is a
Microsoft MN100 wired base station router.

Sorry, forgot to add that I have run the ICW.

On the router, did you open up (port forward) port 1723 and GRE Protocol 47?
Both are required for PPTP connections (VPN). Also open up port 25 on the
router for email. You'll be forwarding all of these parameters to the IP
address of the external NIC.
