I have a customer that is having a problem with a Notebook that they travel
with. The Notebook is setup to connect to a SBS 2000 server but occasionally
it is brought overseas to connect to the Internet.
I checked and they are receiving a valid IP address, Default Gateway and DNS
server(s).
In order to enable browsing I had then uncheck the Proxy Server in the Lan
Settings of IE. The bypass Proxy Server for Local Address was checked as I
thought this would allow for Browsing if there wasn't a Proxy.
Any idea why we needed to make this change and is this standard operating?

Thanks,
John

Is the Firewall Client installed on that notebook? It will have to be
disabled when not in the office.
