I have a very simple network consisting of an SBS2K server, 6 XPPro
workstations, and a couple of printers. After upgrading the workstations to
SP2, domain users are experiencing slow logons, slow access to files on
server and printing problems. Logging onto workstations with a domain admin
account works fine, and giving a user domain admin privilege fixes the
problem. Obviously, the solution is not to give everyone domain admin
privilege, so any help solving this problem would be appreciated.

I have disabled the XP firewall that is installed with SP2.

Please post the results of an ipconfig /all for the server and for a
workstation.

What happens if you give a user local admin (not domain admin) permissions
on his workstation?

And I assume your SBS 2000 server is at SP1a.

I tried giving local admin permissions, but no luck.

One bizarre symptom of the problem is that print jobs come out with only
parts of the page printed, i.e. Excel spreadsheet form prints but no data in
the blocks, or 2020 drawing prints the form and text, but no cabinets.

Rt. click My Computer | Properties, under System see if it says Microsoft
Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.

If so, rt. click Start | Explore and see if you have a folder called
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business Server SP1.

The OS is W2K SP4, but no SBS SP1 folder. I have the SP1a disks, so I
thought they had been installed. I'll install the service pack and see if
that helps. It may take a few days due to remote located server.

Thanks
