My regrets if this has been covered recently...tough topic to search on.

We have a SBS 2k acting as our file and email server as well as the PDC on
the LAN. We haven't (intentially) implemented ISA or any other web server
stuff on the thing. It is not pointed to as a gateway by the
workstations...it just sits there behind the router/firewall like all the
workstations (which point at the Router IP as the gateway). Of course,
server console access to the Internet works fine. Question is: Why should a
workstation local User who doesn't have a Domain account (the WS does, but
not the User) who is logged in to the WS (not the domain) have to present
domain credentials to use IE to access websites on the Internet (WS is XP
pro, SP1)?

Hi Gavin,

Because you have ISA running, a user must authenticate to be able to get
access to the internet. All users should log into the domain, not the local
computer domain.
