You may get more response in the SBS 2003 Newsgroup.
SBS public Newsgroups:
SBS 4.x: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz
SBS 2000: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000
SBS 2003: microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs
if your current news server does not carry the mentioned groups you should
be able to connect directly to news.microsoft.com
Meanwhile:
Are you really using dialup?
If your lappies don't have their own inbuilt WIFI I'd go PC-Card or similar
before USB. For the desktops, PCI.
The WAP vs router question has a bit to do with how you set up SBS, one NIC
or two. In a one NIC SBS I'd probably use a wireless capable router (well,
actually, a firewall preferably) but with two NICs in SBS I'd maybe use same
(and force wireless clients to VPN to the server) or use a router
SBS-Internet and put a WAP SBS-Local_LAN.
Float on over to the SBS2003 group and reask the question, maybe considering
these snippets beforehand.
