Greetings,

I wonder if anyone has a definitive answer to the
following question. Perhaps it is daft, but I cannot find
an answer anywhere.

Does SBS 2k3 have the ability to connect to a full 2k AD
Forest domain?

The scenario I am attempting to address is to put a
SBS2k3 server into a satellite branch connected via VPN
to our forest root domain at HQ.

Has anyone tried this? Are there issues?

Thanks.

Craig

You cannot join SBS to an existing Domain ( except for SBS2003 as a part
of a migration scenario with a 14 day grace period )

Amongst the limitations of SBS are:

Single Domain.
SBS must be Root of Forest.
SBS must hold all FSMO rolls.
No Trusts.

This doesn't preclude you from establishing VPN Connections ( and you can
do Pass Through Authentication ) but how and what you set-up depends upon
exactly what you need.
