The external NIC generally should have only TCP/IP protocol, and no services
bound.
The internal NIC generally should have all the install protocols and
services bound. Where you would want to limit things is to not install other
protocols and services you don't need. That means that probably TCP/IP is
the only protocol, and the services would include on the MS Networking, File
and Printer Sharing, plus you might find that your adapter installs QoS
related services....and of course you may have some RRAS related services
installed.
