Single user can't access any of the folders below the shared folder
when she logs onto XP Pro machine. So she can login OK and browse right
into the shared folder (UNC or mapped drive) however when she tries to open
a folder within the shared folder she gets "XXXX is not accessible. You
might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the
Administrator of the server to find out if you have access permissions". She
can access the folders from another workstation no problem. Other users can
use her XP Pro machines to access all resources OK. Permissions on shared
folders and file permissions seem fine.
can ping server name (4 replies) and correct ip address is returned.
nslookup on her ip address returns correct machine name.

Any suggestions please.

No. I am a bit hesitant to try that as someone else created all the users
and assigned permissions etc. He is on holiday for 2 weeks so I might have
to do it. I am a bit weak on Exchange knowledge, can I safely delete the
user, recreate the user without losing the mailbox? How do I associate the
new user with the old mailbox?

User cannot access resources from XP Pro by Mark

Check the user has RW access rights to the folder.

Do this by clicking

"Start" Then "Small Business Server Administratir Console"

Open up "Small Business Server (BackOffice Manager)" then
click "shares"

On the right appears all the shares available on the
machine. Double click the name of the share the user
cannot access.

Now choose the "Share Permissions" tab.

Look down the list and see if your user is on it. If she
is, then check that the "Change" and "Read" box is ticked
for that user, and tick it if it isn't. If your user is
not there then you will have to add her using the "add"
button. Choose her name off the list and click "OK", then
tick the "Change" and "Read" box. Click "OK" and she
should now be able to access that share :)

The user is a member of the Domain Users group which has Read and Change
access to the share. This was working fine until yesterday and suddenly she
can't access the contents of any share although she can browse them. This is
only the case from the XP machine. She can work normally from a Windows 98
machine.

I have created a new user for her that seems to be reasonably OK on the
permissions. I have a couple of issues which I am working through. However I
created the new user WITHOUT a mailbox as I was going to delete the old
user, orphan the mailbox, run cleanup agent and reconnect to the new user.
Can I create a mailbox for the new user as I don't fancy setting the new
user up all over again with all the permissions etc. Or shall I go with my
delete and reconnect plan. Suggestions please. (preferably not on a
postcard)

No worries. She is logging onto the domain, I checked that already. I think
the user account is screwed.

Feedback on resolution:

Created a new user with no mailbox.
Assigned new user to same groups.
Copied user folder contents to new user folder.
Deleted old user.
Run Exchange Cleanup Agent.
Reconnected orphaned mailbox to new user.
Dismounted Exchange store
Mounted Exchange store.

Sorted.

Thanks everyone for the help.
