I have just installed sbs 2k, patched it all up and then
tried to create users.

The users show up in the Active directory, they sign in
and can authenticate, but for some reason the 4 of the 5
user do not have email boxes created within exchange.

I went straight through the setup wizard, too all the
defaults, got the message when finished that an email box
had been setup. When I look at the properties of a user
onthe exchange tab it shows the exchange server and the
mailbox name/alias, but within the exchange manager only
one of the boxes shows up.

Any ideas????

Refresh the console depends on where you're viewing the users from.

It takes some seconds before it becomes completely visible.

I have tried refreshing the console, it has been two days
since I added the users and nothing yet.

Any other suggestions?

I noticed, that that they don't show up in exchange manager untill they
either logon to the mailbox or actually receive mail. It is then when the
box is actually created.

The user can not login into the exchange box from outlook
because it doesn't exist. When I try to add the service
under outlook 2k for exchange I can not find a valid email
box to log into?

Go to ADUC and find the user in question. Right Click on the user and
select Exchange Task. Does it say Create Mailbox or Move Mailbox?

Open Exchange System Manager -> Recipients -> Recipient Update Services.
Right click each service on your right and select Update Now. When you are
done, go to AD USers and Computer, right click the user account, you should
have an email address tab and an SMTP address listed there.
If you see the address, then logon as an administrator. Open Outlook and
then open the Address book, you should see the user account there. Send a
piece of email to that account, then try to open Outlook as that account.
