Peoples,

I have a user who needs to have access to another mailbox. For example their
current email address is joe@domain.com I also need to be able to give them
access to a mailbox called accountsdept@domain.com so that they can send and
receive email on this address as well.

How do I go about doing this without creating an accountsdept user account?
Or as an alternative do I need to create an accountsdept user account and if
so how do I give the user Joe access to the accountsdept mailbox so that
they can send and receive email as the accountsdept user as well.

With many thanks.

-Corey

Hi Corey,

You need to create a user account so that it can be associated with a
mailbox.

To make the example easier to read assume you have created a user account
ACCOUNTSDEPTUSER with a mailbox called ACCOUNTSDEPTMBX

1) Log on as ACCOUNTSDEPTUSER
2) Open Outlook
3) Grant permissions to the Mailbox for other users using Outlook security
options
4) Also give Send On Behalf Of permissions using Outlook security options
5) Log off ACCOUNTSDEPTUSER
6) Mark the account as disabled in Active Directory (so that no-one else can
logon as this user)

For each user that has access to the ACCOUNTSDEPTMBX mailbox:

1) Modify their profile so that an additional mailbox is opened at startup
(can be done through Outlook/Tools/Accounts)

Rich.
