I am wanting to upgrade our SBS2000 server to SBS2003 (software assurance).
I would like to completely low away the 'C' drive on the server and start
from scratch. Is there any problems with doing this? I have checked to
ensrethat our variou software packages (A/V, B/U, etc.) will notneedto be
changed when I do this. Is there any issues that I should be aware of?
Reasons not to start "fresh". All data will stil be on the shared data
drives. Thanks in advance.

blow away the C: drive with a 98 boot disk and create it with a 98 boot disk
otherwise the drive won't be C: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a ghost
image handy.

Insert SBS2003 CD1, and boot, making sure to "press a key to boot from
CD" when prompted.

Then just choose to format the existing C: partition during Windows
Setup. No need for a win98 boot disk...

sorry, but I read "completly blow away the C drive" so I assume that is
FDISK as format isn't complete, just a bit.

I saw references to data drives, as well as the C: drive, and assumed
the original poster therefore probably meant partitions, rather than
physical drives.

Either way, a format of the existing C: drive would be perfectly
adequate to eliminate all traces of the previous OS installation.

Thank you guys for the in put. The data drive that I am keeping is
completely different drive (3 disk RAID 5). I just do not know what to do
about the Exchange server's data. The e-mails I could just copy over to the
data drive and re-copy back over after the new install, right? Do I need
toworry about any of the settings as long as I do not mind re-creating
accounts, etc?
