Can I take it no one has upgraded to Trend Client Server Messaging Suite as
yet?

No, that is not a correct assumption. There are several who have upgraded.
The only thing you can assume by the fact that there was no one answered
your email since your initial post is that either (a) those who have done
such an upgrade have not read your posting yet, or (b) they have no pointers
to provide!

Hang in there, I'm sure someone will come through for you!

I deployed an SBS 2000 server to a customer about 4 months ago in a
situation where they didn't have any AV protection in place at the server,
and I leaned on them to say "I'm not connecting this server to the web
without AV, so either buy something now, or I'm putting a trial version on
the server that expires in x days." They couldn't make a decision, but the
server required reinstallation immediately, so I installed OfficeScan 5.5
for SBS as a trial. It expired, they finally made a decision, I sold and
installed the CSMS version. It uninstalled the previous version and put in
the new version. I saw no particular issues at any workstations or the
server that were worth mentioning regarding the technical process.

The only thing I did notice was a bit peculiar in that if you use the
"update the logon scripts" option, it doesn't necessarily succeed in getting
all the scripts updated, but it doesn't tell you that it didn't. In this
instance, I think it found the old username scripts in an old folder or
something, so I would doublecheck that aspect of the upgrade.

Hi

I have been told by my reseller to download and install four components;

- Server Protect
- Office Scan CE
- ScanMail Exchange
- TMCM

Is there any particular order these need to be installed in?

Thanks

Regards

take a look at the file sizes for the two files -- the smaller one is
nothing more than the PDF user manual. Cliock on it, and you have the PDF
manual. The larger one is a self executing zip file. After you run it, look
for the setup file.

Yes, Trend email and phone support is great. But their website seems to be
badly translated from some other language and their search engine isn't
great.

IMHO, of course.

John - you are in the UK I see. Did your distrib say that the TMCM is part
of the CSM suite? News to me, if so.

And Mike, why would you say that? I have used Trend for 3 years with great

There is now an extra bit Server Protect with the new version. Do I still
need to install office scan on the server?

Thanks
