We are in Africa buying all the other tools is diffcult. I nned help on how
it can be done manually.

1. Add 2003 server sbs 2000 domain
2. transfer all fmso roles to 2003 DC
3. install Exchnge 2003 on new DC
4. move mailboxes to new DC
5. demote sbs 2000 DC
6. install 2003 on old sbs 2000 server
7. with the previous name and ip add
8. install exchange 2003 and move back mailboxes
9. clients should now be able to log in

Will this process work?

it is long and tricky but will it work?

I think you should take a look at my website, www.SBSmigration.com, which
outlines a sensible approach to accomplish what you are looking to do. You
can post questions back here, or directly to me.
